Elmore launches new campaigning handbook

It doesn’t take long scrolling the morning news headlines to realise why campaigning to change the world is important.

To launch 2023, Elmore has launched a campaigning handbook offering practical advice on how to plan, run and talk about a campaign.

The handbook sets out key steps to make a campaign a success and is intended for use by anyone, especially Elmore service users. Some of the sections in the handbook will be more relevant than others, depending on the campaign.

The handbook provides a campaign planner to make notes about:

  • the problem

  • the ideal solution to the problem

  • the audience (who to engage with the campaign)

  • tactics the campaigner would like to use

  • resources they’ll need,

  • how to practice self-care while campaigning, and more

Tom Hayes, Chief Executive of Elmore Community Services, said: “A reading of the news shows the importance of campaigning and the challenges in the way of achieving change. Elmore’s new campaign handbook is our way of supporting anyone, especially users of our mental health and complex needs services, to campaign on the issues that matter to them. Effective campaigning involve deciding what you want to do and how you are going to do it, and that requires planning. With this campaign guide, we provide a practical guide to do that planning and start a winning campaign.”
