Prisoners' Support Team
We support offenders and ex-offenders who have complex needs. We can provide support before, during and after your release from prison into the Oxford City community.
Who we work with
We focus on supporting young offenders, female offenders and ‘revolving door’ (recidivist) prisoners.
How we work
Prisoners and ex-offenders who have complex needs are involved in many different systems and processes, each of which has different rules and requirements. We will work with you before and after your release from prison, helping you make sense of all the systems and services, and assisting you to make informed choices.
What we do
- Meet you on the day of your release, either at the prison gate or at an appropriate venue in Oxford City.
- Provide you with an intensive package of support depending on your specific needs.
- Support you to develop your confidence and self-esteem.
- Assist you to explore your patterns of problematic behavior, its impact on others and the consequences of breaking law enforcement measures.
- Help you reduce your social isolation by connecting you to local leisure activities and structured day programs.
- Help you access education and training opportunities, and seek employment.
- Provide opportunities to take part in our Client projects.
- Continue to support you for as long as there is a need.
